Aldo Castellani Collection

This showcase in the Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology in Florence displays part of the collection of ethnological items collected by Aldo Castellani during his scientific stay in Uganda between 1902 and 1903. At the suggestion of Giotto Dainelli, Castellani purchased around a hundred objects and, with the mediation of his friend and peer Aldobrandino Mochi, later sold them to the Museum, where they are still preserved, partly in storage and partly on display1.
