Aldo Castellani's memorial tablet
This marble tablet in honor of Aldo Castellani can be seen in the Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical, Lisbon. It was unveiled on June 17, 1968, in the presence of Castellani himself and many personalities just outside the two small rooms he had been using as laboratories since 1958.
The Portuguese inscription reads as follows: "NESTE GABINETE VEM TRABALHANDO DESDE / 1958 O PROF. ALDO CASTELLANI, MESTRE / EMINENTE E GLORIA DA CIENCIA, A QUEM A / HUMANIDADE MUITO DEVE PELOS NOTAVEIS / E CONTINUOS TRABALHOS QUE EM SEU / FAVOR TEM REALIZADO HA MAIS DE 68 / ANOS / - / HOMENAGEM DA / ESCOLA NACIONAL DE SAUDE PUBLICA / E DE MEDICINA TROPICAL / 31 – 5 – 1968".
