Alexander Fleming's bas-relief

This marble bas-relief of Alexander Fleming was commissioned in 1993 - the same year of the opening of the Alexander Fleming Laboratory Museum - and placed on the exterior of the Medical School buildings of St.Mary's Hospital, in London1.

The main inscription simply states that "FLEMING DISCOVERED PENICILLIN", while all around his bas-relief profile we can read: "ALEXANDER - FLEMING - PRIX - NOBEL - 1945".
