"An operation at the Military Hospital, Endell Street" by Francis Dodd

This oil-on-canvas painting by British portrait painter Francis Dodd is preserved among the collections of the Imperial War Museum (Art. IWM ART 4084) in London (Lambeth Road). It portrays three pioneer female military surgeons Louisa Garrett Anderson, Flora Murray and Winifred Buckley, operating on a male patient along with another unknown female surgeon and a female anesthetist. It was painted in 1920 and celebrates the famous Endell Street Military Hospital, entirely run by women during WW1 and later demolished.
