"Anatomy of the Heart" (1890) by Enrique Simonet

This oil-on-canvas painting by Spanish painter Enrique Simonet can be seen in the Museo de Malaga¹ in Málaga (Plaza Aduana), where it is displayed since 2016.

This work was painted in 1890 in Rome, probably based on an autopsy of a female cadaver recovered from the Tiber river.
