Galatone commemorates Antonio De Ferrariis with a bronze bust carved by Sebastiano Greco in 1969. The bust can be found in Via Giuseppe Garibaldi.
We can find this inscription on the basament, written by A.Corsano, which shortly describes Antonio De Ferrariis' life:
"DETTO IL GALATEO / DALLE ORIGINI FAMILIARI / DAGLI STUDI GIOVANILI / TRASSE FEDELTA '/ ALLA PERENNE PRESENZA / DEL PENSIERO GRECO / MAI TRAMONTATO NEL SALENTO / NELLE TEMPESTOSE / VICENDE DINASTICHE DEL REGNO / EBBE ATTEGGIAMENTO / DI SOBRIA DIGNITA' / CON ASSIDUO TRAVAGLIO / DI SCIENZIATO DI EDUCATORE / DI CRISTIANO / CONSEGUI' RARA ARMONIA / DI PENSIERO UMANISTICO / ILLUSTRO' AMOROSAMENTE / LA NATIVA TERRA SALENTINA / ASSICURANDOLE VANTO / DI INTRAMONTABILE CIVILTA'."
