Antonio Pagnano's tomb

The gravestone of Antonio Pagnano was affixed by his son Agnello1 in 1752 in the Church of S. Antonio and Santissima Annunziata in Frattamaggiore (Piazza Riscatto), on the wall behind the main altar. It praises his great experience and talent in the art of medicine. The Latin inscription states as follows:"ANTONIUS PAGNANUS / ACERRIMI VIR IUDICII / IN EXQUISITA MEDICORUM MEDICORUM ARTE SCIENTISSIMUS / CUM PRIMIS PLANE COMPARANDUS / NI ET PENITIORIS LITERATURAE STUDIIS / MIRO PRAESTANS INGENIO / PERENNIUS SIBI MONUMENTUM EXEGISSE / E VIVIS EXEMTUS A. MDCCLI / PARENTI BENEMERENTISSIMO / AGNELLUS FILIUS AMANTISSIMUS / P. ANNO D. MDCCLII".
