Among the Medical monuments and memories in the University central seat, in Pavia, we can find a bronze and marble monument of Antonio Quaglino who was student and professor in this University from 1836 onwards.
Under the bronze bust of the scientist, there is a bronze bas-relief representing Quaglino taking care of a child. Finally, we have an almost illegible Italian inscription on marble reading as follows: "ANTONIO QVAGLINO / NATO A ZVBIENA NEL 1817 / MORTO A TREMEZZO NEL 1894 / FAVTORE E MILITE DI LIBERTA' / NEI MOTI PATRIOTTICI DEL 1848 / INSEGNO' DAL 1861 AL 1881 OFTALMOIATRIA / IN QVESTO ATENEO / FV MAESTRO EFFICACE E GENIALE / PROMOSSE / IL RINNOVAMENTO DEGLI STVDI OFTALMOLOGICI / DIVVLGANDO NVOVE DOTTRINE SCIENTIFICHE / E ATTVANDO CLINICHE APPLICAZIONI / - / AD ONORARNE LA MEMORIA / COLLEGHI E DISCEPOLI / P. / A. ALBERTI / 1909".
