Arnaldus de Villa Nova's tomb
Arnaldus de Villa Nova 's tomb is located in the Castle of Montalbano Elicona (Via Castello, 35).
In 1312 or 1313 Arnaldus de Villa Nova during one of his trips to Avignon died in the sea near Genoa.
Immediately after his death, traces of the body have been lost for several centuries.
In 1969 it was found the stone tomb in the center of the chapel of the Castle of Montalbano Elicona where he had stayed several times.
On May 7th 2015 after the 1st International Study Convention on Arnaldo da Villanova, it was considered necessary to inaugurate the tomb and to allow enthusiasts to visit the remains.1
