Ascanio Sobrero's bust

This marble bust of Ascanio Sobrero can be seen in the section dedicated to him in the Nobel Museum, inside Villa Nobel, Sanremo. On the column basament, there is the following Italian inscription: "ASCANIO SOBRERO / DA CASALE MONF. / SCOPRIVA IN TORINO / NEL 1847 / LA NITROGLICERINA / [A?] RICORDO DI QUESTO FATTO / LA SOCIETA' ITALIANA / PER LA FABBRICAZIONE / DELLA DINAMITE / POSE / QUESTO MONUMENTO". Possibly, the bust was previously in the explosives factory in Orbetello¹.
