Bartolo Nigrisoli's memorial tablet

This marble memorial tablet of Bartolo Nigrisoli can be seen on the facade of a chemist's shop in Mezzano di Ravenna (via Reale, 470) which belonged to Nigrisoli's father1. Nigrisoli's face is represented in a round bronze bas-relief under which there is the following inscription: "PROF. / BARTOLO / NIGRISOLI / 18 12 1858". On the right side of the tablet the Italian inscription reads as follows: "NELLA CLINICA CHIRURGICA / NELLA CATTEDRA / UNIVERSITARIA / PER OLTRE MEZZO SECOLO / APOSTOLO E MAESTRO DI / UNIVERSALE RINOMANZA / SEMPRE DOVUNQUE / MAGNANIMO NELL'AMOR / FRATERNO E ASSERTORE / NOBILISSIMO / DI CIVILI LIBERTA' / QUI NELLA TERRA NATALE / I SUOI CONCITTADINI / NE CONSACRANO / CON IL / RICORDO LUMINOSO / VI NOV. MCMXLVIII".
