Bridewell Royal Hospital's memorial tablet

This bronze memorial tablet marks the site of the Bridewell Royal Hospital, whose original building was granted by King Edward VII to the City of London in 1553 to house the newly founded hospital. As stated by the memorial tablet, "the present building was erected in 1802 and in 1862 the courtroom of Bridewell Royal Hospital was incorporated therein".
