Carl Linnaeus' statue

This Caen stone statue of Carl Linnaeus by John Tupper represents one of the 19 great men of science that stand "thoughtfully against the pillars around the court"1 of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History in Oxford. "In his left hand Linnaeus holds a sprig of Linnaea borealis, and at his feet is the Lapland plant Menyanthes trifoliata"2.
