Claude Bernard's tomb

Claude Bernard died on February 10,1878. On Saturday, February 16, the ceremony began at the Church of Saint-Sulpice, and after a long cortège through the streets of Paris, ended in cemetery of Père Lachaise. The Chamber of Deputies voted him a State Funeral, the first such honor to a scientist1.
