Constantine, the third largest city in Algeria, is located in eastern Algeria, suspended above a limestone rock penetrated by the Wadi Rum, which gave it the nickname "City of Suspension Bridges" thanks to its historic bridges that connect its two banks at heights of more than 200 meters. Also known as "Cirta", the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Numidia, which later became an important Roman center before being named after Emperor Constantine in 313 AD. It is one of the oldest cities in the world, as its old neighborhoods and heritage embody a mixture of Berber, Roman and Arab civilizations. It also hosted the "Capital of Arab Culture 2015" event, which highlighted its cultural heritage through events in landmarks such as the Ahmed Bey Hall. With its strategic location and ancient history, Constantine remains a symbol of unique architectural beauty and a link between the ancient past and the vibrant present.
