Domenico Ridola died on June 11, 1932, in Matera, where is buried along with his brother, Leonardo. His tomb is located in the old cemetery (Cimitero Vecchio) in Via IV Novembre.
On the front of the cemetery's entrance there is the following inscription:
"DAL SILENZIO DI QUESTE TOMBE / SI ELEVA UNA VOCE: / CHI ADORA IDDIO E OPERA / CON CARITÀ E GIUDIZIO / VIVE IN ETERNO".
The graveyard exhibits a vestibule through which you can enter the cemetery. It is in the shape of a large rectangle, divided into four identical parts by two cypress shaded avenues that intersect each other at the center, where a cross stands out. At the end of the street, opposite the entrance, a majestic temple was built for celebrations and commemorations. Ridola's chapel is situated on the left side of the first avenue.
