Edith Cavell and Marie Depage monument

This monument to the memory of heroic nurses Edith Cavell and Marie Depage can be seen on a corner of the Edith Cavell hospital in Brussels (on the corner of Rue Edith Cavell and Rue Marie Depage).

Two bronze statues - an angel and a young lady - drop flowers while a French inscription on the basament reads as follows: "A EDITH CAVELL / A MARIE DEPAGE / 1915 / PASSANT DIS-LE A TES ENFANTS / ILS LES ONT TUEES" (Passer-by, tell to your children: they killed them").
