Enrico Albanese's bust

In the heart of Villa Garibaldi (Piazza Marina) in Palermo (Sicily), it is possible to admire the marble bust of Enrico Albanese, noted doctor and benefactor of this city who distinguished himself because of his surgical skills and for his patriotic spirit that led him to fight in the uprisings of 1860-61, alongside with Giuseppe Garibaldi. He also healed the wounds of the general during Aspromonte’s battle (29th August 1862). Garibaldi’s statue can be found in middle of the same garden, which bears his name, near Enrico Albanese’s bust.
