First International Telegraph Congress' memorial tablet

In June 1899, telegraphers from all over the world met in Como for the First International Telegraph Congress, in the centennial of Alessandro Volta's invention of the battery. On June 2, they visited Volta's tomb in Camnago, near Como and put a memorial tablet on the facade of a nearby building were they were housed. That building was, in fact, Giovannina Franchi's home.
