The grave of the Sicilian doctor Gian Filippo Ingrassia is located in the chapel of Santa Barbara, inside the church of San Domenico in Palermo (Via dei Bambinai, 18).
As a consequence of recent renovation works the grave has been concreted, but thanks to a commemorative tablet we know that the physician used to hold his lectures inside this chapel, and wanted to be buried in this very place.
The commemorative tablet bears this italian inscription: "QUI / DOVE L’ACCADEMIA DEGLI ACCESI / TENNE ALTO L’ONORE / DEGLI STUDI LETTERARI DELLA SICILIA / AD INVITO DEL SENATO DI PALERMO / LESSE MEDICINA / E QUI VOLLE SEPOLTURA / G.F. INGRASSIA / DA REGALBUTO / GLORIA DELLE SCIENZE MEDICHE / NEL SECOLO XVI / —- / NEL IV CENTENARIO DELLA SUA NASCITA / IL MUNICIPIO DI PALERMO/ POSE".
