Girolamo Fabrizi d'Acquapendente's monument

This marble monument to the memory of Girolamo Fabrizi d'Acquapendente is a work of italian sculptor Tito Sarrocchi and stands in the middle of the main square of Acquapendente. The statue was unveiled in 1888 and represents the old anatomist with two scalpels (now lacking the bronze blades) in his left hand and two of his books - the De formato foetu and the De venarum ostiolis - on a low pillar under his right hand.
