Giulio Cesare Vanini's monument

This bronze monument portrays Giulio Cesare Vanini. It can be seen in Taurisano (Piazza Castello). It was inaugurated on April 15, 2016. The Apulian President Michele Emiliano and the General Manager of “Enciclopedia Treccani” and ex - Minister of Cultural Heritage Massimo Bray partecipated at the inauguration. The municipality entrusted the creation of the sculpture to Paolo Prevedini, who counted on the support of the “Fonderia Nolana del Giudice”.

On the base of the monument there is an inscription, which contains Vanini's words:

"TAURISANO PATRIA MIA."

"Taurisano, my homeland."
