Giuseppe Aromatari was born in this house of Assisi (via San Francesco, 2). A memorial tablet was placed in 1887 and its Italian inscription reads as follows: "IN QUESTA CASA / NACQUE IL XXV MARZO MDLXXXVII / GIUSEPPE AROMATARI / CHE / LETTERATO DIFESE IL PETRARCA / MEDICO SCRISSE INTORNO ALL'IDROFOBIA / NATURALISTA SCOPRI' NOVI VERI / MDCCCLXXXVII".
