Giuseppe Sisco's tomb

Giuseppe Sisco was the first teacher of operative medicine and also taught surgery. He died at the age of 82 and he practiced his profession as a surgeon until his death; he is buried at San Luigi dei Francesi's Church in Rome (Piazza San Luigi de' Francesi), inside the Chapel of the Crucified Christ.

The author of the text engraved on the tomb was a friend of Giuseppe Sisco, Thomas PrelĂ , an Italian Physician who was the uncle of the Corsican Physician Benedetto Viale PrelĂ .
