In 1911 Guido Baccelli obtained the concession1 to build a family tomb in the monumental cemetery of Campo Verano in Rome. He had it built in the section N.47 of the so called Altopiano (plateau).
He himself was buried there on the 12 of January 1916, after the solemn funeral the City of Rome tributed him2.
The Italian inscription on his tombstone reads as follows: "GUIDO BACCELLI / SOMMO CLINICO MEDICO / RIVELO' LA PATOLOGIA DEL CUORE APRI' AI FARMACI LE VENE / QUATTRO VOLTE MINISTRO DEL RE / PROPUGNO' L'AUTONOMIA UNIVERSITARIA / RESE ALLA LUCE LE GLORIE ROMANE DEL FORO / PROMOSSE L'AGRICOLTURA / GRANDE ORATORE / PER OLTRE QUARANTA ANNI RAPPRESENTO' ROMA IN PARLAMENTO / EBBE FEDE IN DIO AMO' LA PATRIA / FU CARATTERE DI ROMANO ANTICO / FU CITTADINO E PADRE ESEMPLARE / MDCCCXXX - MDCCCCXVI".
On the external wall of the family tomb a metal laurel wreath by the Italian Chamber of Deputies honours him.
