Healing Window

The “Healing Window” is an artistic window located in St Mary Abbots church in Kensington, London. The scenes depicted in the four lights represent several healing miracles narrated in the Holy Scriptures, and on the bottom right of the last light, one can read this sentence: “The Medical Profession erect this memorial of John Hunter…”.

This window commemorates Hunter’s dwelling at the parish and certainly also the one of other Kensington worthies besides Hunter. According to George McHardy, these other two should be Sir James McGrigor, father of army medicine, and Sir Isaac Newton.
