The old Institut Chirurgical Berkendael in Brussels (Place G. Brugmann n° 29) was built in 1905 by Art nouveau architect Jean-Baptiste Dewin on the initiative of the celebrated Belgian surgeon Antoine Depage¹. The building was later expanded with the adjacent Centre de Santé de la Croix Rouge de Belgique and is now undergoing restoration (August 2009).
