Ivan Pavlov monument

This bronze monument by the Russian sculptor Anatoly Dema, to the memory of russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov has been recently collocated (2004)1, in the zone of the State University (Tiflisskaya Street), on the Vasilievsky Island in Saint Petersburg.

The monument commemorates the centennial of the Nobel Prize to Pavlov, who was awarded in1904 "in recognition of his work on the physiology of digestion, through which knowledge on vital aspects of the subject has been transformed and enlarged"2.
