Jacopo Bartolomeo Beccari's Portrait

The portrait of Jacopo Bartolomeo Beccari, by anonimous author, can be seen on the side wall of the lecture hall of Ciamician Chemistry Department, in Bologna. (Via Zamboni, 33 – 40126 Bologna/ via Selmi, 2)

It is actually a copy of the real painting, which is dated back to XVIII century and stored in the Poggi’s Palace Museum.
This painting was conceived as an homage to Beccari, who was the first person to take the chair of Applied Chemistry, which was created in 1737 in this University.
