Jardin des Plantes

The Jardin des Plantes in Paris is the main French botanical garden and contains the historical buildings of the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle. It was founded at the beginning of the 17th Century as a medicinal herb garden, turning to be, towards the end of the 18th, one of the main site in the world for the development of natural history and related sciences, thanks to the action of scientists like Georges-Louis Leclerc de Buffon, Jean Baptiste Lamarck, Georges Cuvier, etc.
