"John Heysham Gibbon" by Charles Hopkinson

This oil-on-canvas portrait of John Heysham Gibbon can be seen in the "Mitchell Room" of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. It is a work by American painter Charles Hopkinson and it was donated to the College in 1973, the year of John's death, by his wife Mary Hopkinson, who was also the daughter of the painter. Gibbon had been President of the College from 1928 to 1931.
