Joseph Frank's tomb

This pyramid shaped funeral monument is the tomb of Joseph Frank and can be found in Laglio, on the shores of Lake Como. Frank died on October 17, 1842 in his villa in Como "and 10 years later in 1852 he was buried in the large pyramid – 20 m tall and 13 m wide. He had left 25,000 Swiss francs in his will for its construction. The dedication on the tombstone inside the tomb reads: 'You who set foot in this doorway, wish peace to a man who was truly among the most human of men'.”1. But on the pyramid the inscription states MDCCCLI, that is 1851: perhaps the monument was finished in 1851 and the body of Frank was transferred here only the following year.
