Larrey's "flying ambulance" (model)

This scale model of Dominique-Jean Larrey's "flying ambulance" can be seen (item N°56) - among many other Larrey's memories and belongings - in the Musée du Service de Santé des Armées in Paris. This simple two-wheeled wagon, introduced by Larrey in the Napoleon army for the transport of the wounded, meant a great step forward in military surgery and nursing.
