Maria Montessori's tomb
The simple but elegant funeral monument of Maria Montessori can be found in the cemetery of Noordwijk (Gooweg, 37). Since 1936 Maria Montessori, with her family, spent most of her time in the Netherlands. She died of a cerebral hemorrhage on May 6, 1952 at the age of 81 and, according to her will, she was buried in Noordwijk.
