Maria Velleda Farnè's portrait

This marble portrait of Maria Velleda Farnè is one of the Medical Monuments in the University of Turin central building and can be seen at the Monumental Staircase leading to the Great Hall. The work was executed in Carrara marble by master craftsman Michele Monfroni.

Under the portrait, an Italian inscription reads as follows: "MARIA VELLEDA FARNÈ / PRIMA IN QUESTO ATENEO / CONSEGUÍ LA LAUREA NEL 1878 / IN MEDICINA E CHIRURGIA / BOLOGNA 1852 - RIVALBA 1905 / UNIVERSITÀ DI TORINO, 2022".
