Mary Owen's memorial tablet

This marble tablet erected to the memory of Mary Owen can be seen inside the church of St Bartholomew the Less, at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. It remembers that she "FOR THIRTY NINE YEARS FAITHFULLY AND KINDLY DISCHARGED THE DUTIES OF A NURSE AND SISTER OF THE HOSPITAL" and that "SHE BEQUEATHED THE SUM OF L250 THE CHIED SAVINGS OF HER USEFUL LIFE TO THE SAMARITAN FUND ATTACHED TO THIS HOSPITAL".
