Mendel and Tschermak memorial
This unusual monument (unusual for its form and for its location in a suburban area) celebrates Gregor Mendel, the founder of genetics, and Erich von Tschermak, one of the re-discoverers of Mendel's laws of heredity in Spring 1900. It is a work completed between 1954 and 1957 by Italian sculptor and architect Mario Petrucci1; it can be found in Vienna (Friedrich-Engels-Platz, corner with Wehlistrasse).
