Museo Anatomico 'Leonetto Comparini'

The anatomical museum 'Leonetto Comparini' is a part of the "Centro Universitario per la Tutela e la Valorizzazione dell'Antico Patrimonio Scientifico Senese" (CUTVAP) of the University of Siena and is located in the Polo Scientifico Universitario (via Aldo Moro, 2). The Museum's collections of scientific instruments and anatomical preparations date back at least at the first half of Nineteenth Century1. The current organization of the Museum, completed in 2002, helps students and researchers to immerse in the atmosphere of a late '800 anatomy department2. The Museum is named after anatomist Leonetto Comparini who was a true master for the local School of Anatomy from the early '950s to the 1999, year of his death3.
