Museum of Anatomy

This is the 'Museum University of Scienze and Arts' (MUSA) and it is referred to Luigi Vanvitelli's University of Naples. One of the most ancient nucleuses that gave life to the current collection of the Museum of Anatomy was established by Marco Aurelio Severino in 1640 at St. James The Apostle’s Hospital. In the second half of the 18th century, the anatomist Domenico Cotugno bought and inserted important wax artifacts to the collection. These artifacts reproduced human body, helping to preserve numerous anatomic preparations.
