Nicasio Landa's tomb

Nicasio Landa is buried in his family tomb in the Cemetery of Pamplona (Carretera Cementerio). His tombstone is just below the one of his father Rufino. The spanish inscription reads as follows: "EL DOCTOR D.NICASIO LANDA Y ALVAREZ DE CARBALLO / COFUNDADOR DE CRUZ ROJA ESPANOLA / 1831 - 1891 / EL EMMO SR D. ANGEL DI PIETRO NUNCIO APOSTOLICO DE S.S. LEON XIII / CONCEDE 100 DIAS DE INDULGENCIA A TODOS LOS FIELES QUE OYEREN / UNA MISA U OFRECIEREN LA SAGRADA COMUNION U REZAREN UNA PARTE / DE ROSARIO EN SUFRAGIO DEL ALMA DE DICHO SENOR LANDA Q. E. P. D. / OFRECIENDO POR LOS SANTOS FINES DE LA IGLESIA".

In July 1989 a memorial tablet of the Spanish Red Cross was added on the wall of the tomb on the occasion of its 125th Anniversary. The spanish inscription reads as follows: "CRUZ ROJA ESPANOLA / EN EL 125 ANIVERSARIO DE SU FUNDACION / RINDE HOMENAJE AL DR. D. NICASIO / LANDA ALVAREZ DE CARBALLO / PAMPLONA JULIO 1989".

The tomb can be found near the Cuadro 6 along the internal path of Calle San Miguel, between the Calle San Felipe and the Calle San Antonio.
