Nuffield College of Surgical Sciences

The Nuffield College of Surgical Sciences was erected at the midst of the Twentieth Century alongside The Royal College of Surgeons of England in London (35-43 Lincolns Inn Fields) and depending from it. It "provided accomodation for foreign postgraduate students, reflecting the increasingly international role of an organization that had started as a City guild. Until 1996 it also housed the Institute of Basic Medical Research, one of the postgraduate institutes of the University of London"1.
