Peter of Abano's monument
This spoilt statue of Peter of Abano can be seen - among many others - in the magnificent Prato della Valle in Padua. On the basament, the Latin name of the physician can be read (Petro Aponensi) jointly with the following inscription: "PHILOSOPHO . MEDICO . MATHEMATICO / INGENII . ET . DOCTRINAE . PRAESTANTIA / HUMANAM . FIDEM . SUPERGRESSO". An other inscription is almost illegible.
