Peter of Spain's tomb

Portuguese physician Peter of Spain, then Pope John XXI, is buried in St. Lawrence's Cathedral in Viterbo. The tomb is situated at the end of the left aisle, on the left of the high altar. On the tomb you can read an inscription with a sentence from the Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri: “..PIETRO ISPANO / LO QUAL GIU' LUCE IN DODICI LIBELLI" (PARADISO, XII, 134-35).
