The commemorative tablet bears this Italian inscription: "AL PROF / PIETRO GROCCO / SENATORE DEL REGNO / CLINICO SOMMO / BENEFATTORE INSIGNE / I CONCITTADINI / AMMIRANDO RICONOSCENTI / —- / MDCCCCXXII".
