Policlinico universitario Agostino Gemelli

The Policlinico Universitario Agostino Gemelli in Rome (Largo Agostino Gemelli, 8) was built by the will of Father Agostino Gemelli in 1961.

At first, the idea was to build only two buildings: an "Istituto Biologico" and a "Policlinico". Currently, there are six buildings. The 5th of November 1961, the School of medicine and surgery was inaugurated at the presence of Pope John XXIII.

On July 1964 the Policlinico was finally opened for use.
