Robert Hooke's memorial tablet

This marble tablet to the memory of Robert Hooke, "One of the most ingenious men who ever lived", can be found in the in the Crypt of St Paul's Cathedral in London, just beside the tomb of his "friend and colleague" Sir Christopher Wren.

A microscope is engraved between the dates of his birth and his death.
