Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Anatomy Museum is located in Kronvalda bulvāris 9 in Riga. The building that houses the museum was originally built in the 19th century. Over time, the building has served as a stable, training rooms and even a warehouse. In 2015, RSU initiated the restoration of the historical stables of the Anatomical Theatre in order to set up an Anatomy Museum.
The RSU Anatomy Museum collection consists of 6,000 different and unusual objects: preparations of both normal and pathological specimens of human anatomy, embryology and teratology collections as well as many anthropological specimens obtained in excavations and expeditions in the 1920s and 1930s. The historical collection has been complemented by interactive solutions.
On the first floor of the museum, there is the museum cranium collection and some specimens of different human organ such as lungs, kidneys and section of the brain.
The museum's underground floor contains collections of congenital anomalies as well as the open collection of the museum and the collection of tattooed skin.
