Saint Pantaleon's blood
A phial containing the blood of physician and martyr Saint Pantaleon is preserved from time immemorial in a left-side chapel of the Cathedral of Ravello. According to a tradition, on the feast day of the saint (July, 27), the blood is said to become fluid and transparent. Above the altar of the relic is a 1638 oil-on-canvas by Girolamo Imperiali depicting the torture of Pantaleon.
