Saint Thomas Hall

This hall takes its name from the famous Saint who used to teach Theology at the San Matteo's Cathedral in Salerno. Among the teaching venues of Salerno Medical School, this one was the most famous. Furthermore, it is one of the few places still open to visitors and it represents one of the last venues of the school together with San Lazzaro Hall situated inside the Cathedral, too. Recently the hall has been completely reconstructed. One of the brick walls has been left visible functioning as the back of both the bell tower and the old wooden altar. Nowadays, it is occasionally used for various kinds of ceremonies.
