Sala Gimbernat

The Gimbernat Hall was the old anatomical theatre of the Reial Collegi de Cirurgìa de Barcelona (Royal College of Surgeons of Barcelona) and is now the main conference hall of the Reial Academia de Medicina de Catalunya, Barcelona.

It is a rich and beautiful 18th century theatre, with some monuments of distinguished figures of Spanish Medicine and the names of four of them inscribed in four medallions on the ceiling: Miguel Servet, Antoni de Gimbernat, Pedro Mata y Santiago Ramon y Cajal.
